Did it happen in the past that agreed actions didn’t get enough attention?

Don’t rush into conclusions and avoid blaming the team. Learn what they think about it. If it’s a problem for the team, help in finding a solution that would work for them.

Consider offering the team visualisation of the action items on their Kanban board or any other tool where they keep track of their tasks.

So how do you get the problem common for the team?

Steps to implement:

  1. At the end of the meeting show team a scale on a whiteboard, labeled ‘Probability we’ll implement our action items’. Mark ‘0%’ on the left and ‘100%’ on the right.
  2. Ask everyone to place a sticky according to their confidence in following through as a team with a comment on it.
  3. Discuss the results.

 

Tip:

If your team came up with a new tool, make sure they stick with it. Follow-up by reminding the team about the agreements until it becomes a habit.
