Gratitude

15 min

Meetings may be exhausting and end people may have low motivation in the end. Studies have proven to support the peak-end theory.

Giving and receiving gratitude can be a very energising activity and fill everyone with intrinsic motivation.

Take some time at the end of the meeting to let participants share the words of gratitude with each other.

Here are possible ways on how to do it.

Way 1: Gratitude to the team

  1. Ask each team member to fill out the blanks in the following text:
‘My team is awesome because ________________
and that makes me feel ___________________’
  2. Take a screenshot and add it to the team space, where the team shapes their identity.

Way 2: Digital presents to each other

  1. Ask team members to write a couple of kudo notes to team members.
  2. Let them find images that would emphasise their words.

Way 3: Say it out loud

If you are not a shy group, try giving gratitude 🙏 verbally. Invite everyone to think what others helped them with. Did they solve a technical problem, were courageous team players, or showed empathy when another colleague needed support? Start by telling a sincere words of gratitude to one of the participants. Then invite others to join. Close when no one has talked for a minute.
